Guest Editor: Deep Fried Fit | Girls Night at Mezze Tapas

Guys, Mockingbird Station has CHANGED! It’s so exciting! As a local and an SMU alum, I grew up frequenting the shops and restaurants with friends. So it was a pleasant surprise when I visited the new Mezze Tapas for the first time last fall. I’ve been back a few times since because I was just in love with their food, the beautiful restaurant, and the personal story of the husband-and-wife chefs at Mezze Tapas and Edith’s French Bistro. They own and operate their concepts right next to each other in Mockingbird Station. SO cute.
I was in desperate need of a girls’ night and decided to stop by Mezze Tapas to satisfy my craving for Mediterranean food and, of course, wine. Between my gal pal and I, we split the Mezze Trio and the Stone Baked mussels. These starters were perfect for sharing. The trio let us sample the red hummus, labneh, and the Mezze hummus with fresh hot pita bread. The mussels were sooo good. That tomato broth is to die for.
The last time I was at Mezze, I loved the seafood stew, so I wanted to try something different. My friend and I split the rotisserie pork and the lamb gyro. Both came with a sweet potato hash that was delicious. I’ve sampled a variety of menu items and I’ve enjoyed almost everything I’ve had at Mezze.
It’s definitely one of my new favorite spots. And when summer comes back, that patio is popping! Definitely add Mezze Tapas to your list of restaurants to check out. You won’t be disappointed.
